Biography
Homeless to HEALER, The Journey of "Prince Akeem"
Prince Akeem is a Trinidad and Tobago–born recording artist whose work bridges music, poetry, and spiritual introspection. Raised in Diego Martin within an environment shaped by poverty and generational trauma, he developed a quiet, observant nature early on—what he describes as a “pregnant silence”—that would later become foundational to his artistic voice.
His connection to sound and language began through a deep sensitivity to tone, emotion, and expression. However, it was not until 2025, during a period of personal collapse and transformation, that his artistic identity fully emerged. After experiencing the loss of stability—home, employment, relationships, and a sense of self—Prince turned inward, using music as both a tool for understanding and a means of reconstruction.
Blending influences reminiscent of Lauryn Hill, Nas, and Amy Winehouse, his sound can be described as surrealist blues poetry—raw, introspective, and emotionally charged. His work explores themes of trauma, self-awareness, healing, and purpose, offering listeners not just storytelling, but a pathway toward inner understanding.
Prince’s artistry is deeply shaped by lived experiences, including mental health struggles and various forms of personal trauma. Rather than masking these realities, he transforms them into narratives of growth, emphasizing that one’s origin does not define their outcome.
Currently, Prince is developing a broader wellness-driven creative platform centered on self-discovery and inner work, independent of religious doctrine. His upcoming project, Hidden Sermon, is a music-poetry album chronicling his journey through hardship, including his time in a homeless shelter, and the insights gained through that process.
Prince is currently seeking aligned partners and investors who recognize the value of purpose-driven art and wellness-centered platforms. Those interested in supporting the growth of a transformative creative movement are invited to connect and be part of bringing this vision into tangible reality.
