Bacano Leaf Creative Arts Enterprise is a hub for Caribbean spoken word poetry, dedicated to nurturing, developing, and promoting Caribbean artists and their stories. We operate as a social enterprise, combining performance arts, literary development, and community engagement to empower poets while generating a sustainable environment for spoken word artists. Our initiatives include poetry slams, open mics, creative workshops, publishing, digital media, and curated cultural experiences that celebrate and elevate spoken word poetry in the region. We encourage young people to imagine, reflect, discuss, create, share and exchange as a unified creative force. We aim to foster a community of empowered storytellers and performers by providing the tools, opportunities and the platform needed to push both the artist and art form forward.
