Biography
Akil Marcelle is a multidisciplinary creative and visual storyteller from La Brea, Trinidad and Tobago, working across graphic design, photography, video production, social media management, marketing strategy, copywriting, and website development. His work sits at the intersection of creative communication, cultural storytelling, community visibility, and brand development.
With over 15 years of experience, Akil has produced creative and strategic work for businesses, organisations, and community-based initiatives across Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean space. His portfolio includes campaign graphics, social media content, photography, promotional material, brand communication, and digital storytelling for clients and organisations such as Raw Fitness Health Club, Khan’s Poultry & Meats, Gasparillo Mall, Mohan’s Service Station, and the T&T Transgender Coalition.
Akil’s creative practice is rooted in clarity, purpose, and representation. He uses design, photography, and media to help people, brands, and communities communicate who they are, what they offer, and why their stories matter. His work also explores local identity, cultural memory, creative confidence, and the need for stronger visibility for Trinidad and Tobago’s people, places, and creative communities.
Through AM Digital, Akil continues to develop projects that support creative growth and cultural documentation, including Unboxed: Creative Growth Workshop, a retreat designed to help creatives reconnect with purpose and structure, and Dis Iz We, a developing visual storytelling project exploring the lived beliefs, histories, identities, and social realities that shape Trinidad and Tobago.
Akil is seeking certification as an individual cultural worker to formally recognise his contribution to the creative and cultural sector and to support the continued development of his work in visual communication, digital media, and cultural storytelling.
