Kwasi Wayne Romero – Dancer | Choreographer | Instructor | Fitness Innovator
Kwasi Wayne Romero is one of Trinidad & Tobago’s premier dancers and choreographers, known for his electrifying stage presence, diverse skill set, and unmatched versatility. A self-taught artist, Kwasi’s dance journey began in martial arts, where he earned a third-degree brown belt in Shotokan Karate and trained in Capoeira and Mixed Martial Arts. It was his mastery of Capoeira that opened the door to Hip Hop and Break Dancing, setting the foundation for an extraordinary career.
Since launching his professional career in 2005 as a Hip Hop dancer with the Scientist Crew, Kwasi has trained in Modern Dance, Latin, and Ballroom dance, while gaining experience in Tap, Caribbean Folk and Jamaican Dancehall. His artistry has taken him to stages across the Caribbean and beyond, including 14 years with the 3Canal show as a dancer and choreographer.
His expertise in Latin dance earned him Zumba certification, which he held for several years before co-founding the popular dance fitness program Soca Cardio in 2013 with business partner Sean Austin. Today, Kwasi serves as CEO and Lead Instructor of Soca Cardio, a Hip Hop Dance Instructor at 5678 Dance School, and a member of the prestigious Noble Douglas Dance Company Inc. (NDDCI).
Kwasi’s performance and choreography credits include collaborations with top choreographers such as Noble Douglas, Dave Williams, Charlene Harris, Allan Balfour, Heather Gordon, and Leshawn Prescott. He has worked with leading Carnival bands including Tribe, Island People, Peter Minshall, Trini Revellers, and D Krew, and has shared the stage with music icons Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin, Fay-Ann Lyons, Destra, Super Blue, Nadia Batson, Patrice Roberts, and many more.
His passion for performance has led him to notable stages and events, including the 5th Summit of the Americas, the Pity Martinique Regatta Festival, and the Bollywood film Dul Himmil Guya. In recent years, he has been a part of high-energy performances for Soca Monarch and has collaborated on projects such as Camp Tippi Tambu, OJO Fit, Sweat Fete, Hot 93, and Subway Boom Burn Outs.
Beloved by students for his energy, charisma, and infectious enthusiasm, Kwasi is more than a dancer—he is a movement innovator, cultural ambassador, and mentor dedicated to igniting passion, elevating skills, and inspiring unforgettable dance journeys.
