Biography
Samara Lallo is an award-winning actress, producer, author, and voice artist whose work spans theatre, film, television, radio, and digital media. Since beginning her professional career in 2008, she has built a diverse portfolio—appearing in films such as Escape from Babylon, Bazodee, and Play the Devil, and in campaigns including The Falls at Westmall commercial. A graduate with honours of the B.A. Theatre Arts programme at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Samara trained under renowned mentors including Louis McWilliams, Helen Camps, Kirk Baltz, and Raphael Noble, as well as through her playback theatre work with Arts-in-Action.
In 2021, Samara wrote, starred in, and produced Vulnerable, a short film that earned international acclaim and awards in New York, Los Angeles, and Germany. She played the lead role in Fortune for All, directed by Yao Ramesar, which has gone global, won multiple international awards—including Best Trinidad & Tobago Film at TTFF 2023—and is currently being featured at Carifesta 2025 in Barbados. She contributed voice work for two characters and appeared on-screen in Sacrificial, the first post-COVID local film to complete a full theatrical run across all cinemas in Trinidad & Tobago, and voiced two characters in the audiobook From Ibadan to Hellyard, demonstrating her versatility across media.
She is also a registered artist with The National Registry of Artists and Cultural Workers of Trinidad and Tobago. Known for her ability to bring authenticity and emotional depth to her performances, she has become a sought-after creative collaborator both locally and internationally.
Beyond the screen and stage, Samara is the author of Melodies of the Heart, a poetry collection that transforms self-reflection into immersive and interactive experiences. Blending raw, unfiltered verse with reflective prompts, her work creates space for healing, connection, and personal growth. Her artistry extends into voice work, production coordination, and actor training, where she guides emerging talents through their first steps in the industry.
