Biography
NEVAL CHATELAL is a multiple award-winning artist and one of Trinidad and Tobago’s most remarkable musical talents. With a unique ability to command various styles of music — even combining them in eclectic ways — this singer-songwriter, composer, producer, and arranger demonstrates no limits to his ever-expanding creative expression.
A winner of Mastana Bahar (2006), Digicel Rising Stars (2010), the Tenor Solo category at the 30th Biennial Music Festival (2012), and a two-time Chutney Soca Monarch (2018 & 2019), Neval has proven his rare versatility and artistry. In an extraordinary and historic move, the producers of Digicel Rising Stars invited him to become the first winner to sit on their esteemed panel of judges (2015 & 2016).
Neval has sung for royalty and heads of state, performed in live ballets, collaborated and toured with Trinidad and Tobago’s finest artists, represented his country internationally, and opened for world-renowned acts.
Designated ‘National Patriotism Champion’ by the Ministry of National Diversity and Social Integration (2013), Carifesta XIV Ambassador (2019), and most recently the recipient of the Mere Desh award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Trinidad and Tobago in the Field of Music and Culture’ (2025), Neval continues to use his voice and talents to make a powerful statement for inclusion and diversity.
A passionate philanthropist and no stranger to giving back, Neval remains dedicated to Country, Community, and Culture. In honour of his late mother, he established the Mama Tara Foundation to inspire, empower and uplift communities through music, education, mentorship and outreach.
