TriStar Tassa Group is a long-standing cultural and musical ensemble based in Felicity, Chaguanas, dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the traditional art form of tassa drumming in Trinidad and Tobago. The group has been active for over 50 years and is led by veteran tassa drummer Mr. Lakiram Bhagan, whose experience and leadership have helped shape the group’s reputation for excellence and cultural authenticity.

The group is honoured to serve as the official tassa group for the Pierre Road Ramleela celebrations,(over twenty years) which is widely recognised as the largest Ramleela celebration in Trinidad. TriStar Tassa Group regularly performs at religious ceremonies, weddings, receptions, community functions, cultural events, and national celebrations, showcasing the energy and discipline of traditional tassa music.

TriStar Tassa Group has also been a consistent participant in the Prime Minister’s Best Village Trophy Competition for a number of years and achieved Second Place in the 2025 competition, reflecting the group’s commitment to cultural excellence and community engagement.

Registered as a sole proprietorship with the Ministry of Legal Affairs, TriStar Tassa Group continues to play a vital role in preserving Trinidad and Tobago’s intangible cultural heritage while mentoring younger generations and representing tassa music with pride and professionalism.
