Biography
Robin Jagdip, a musician from Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, was born on February 25th, 1976. Growing up in a musical family, Robin was influenced by his father's involvement in East Indian music and the local cultural show "MASTANA BAHAR." His exposure to vintage soca sounds and the popular carnival band "Boorekeets" shaped his musical journey. Robin's first chutney soca song, "IF I KETCH YOU TONIGHT," topped the charts in Trinidad and Tobago for eight months and won the 103 FM Best New Artist award in 2008. His next song, "RUM & DHAL," was also nominated for Best Chutney Soca of the year by COTT in 2008. In 2010, Robin formed his own band, "TEMPA," performing throughout Trinidad and Tobago and contributing to the soca and chutney music scene. After forming the band Tempa, Robin Jagdip performed numerous shows while pursuing endeavors outside of music. He explored various genres, including Reggaeton, dub, and Bollywood covers. Recently, Robin returned to writing music, releasing two Groovy Soca hits, "Millionaire" and "As One," which have received a lot of love. He plans to enter the Chutney Soca Monarch competition and The Ultimate Soca Star Competition in 2025 with the song "Millionaire," and will be touring and remixing with a famous soca artist. Robin looks forward to rejoining the music scene and producing more hits in the very near future
