DR. KUMAR MAHABIR is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Language and Cultural Studies at the University of Guyana (UG) in the Caribbean, and a Research Fellow of The Eccles Centre for American Studies - British Library.

 Dr. Mahabir is also a former Assistant Professor at the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT).  He obtained his Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Florida (UF) in the USA, and his M.Phil and BA degrees in Literatures in English from the University of the West Indies (UWI). He is the author of 12 books to date.
