Biography
Sarah Anuradha Mohammed is an aspiring Trinbagonian
artist who has been practicing the art of mehndi since the age twelve. Her
"canvasses" was once the hands and feet of friends and family, and
the mediums were henna paste and ink.
Since her high-school art teacher urged her
to "try something" on paper, she has transferred this skill to larger
two dimensional surfaces. Now she is currently working on canvas with acrylic
paint..
Currently she designs mandalas and zentangle.
Mandalas are circular designs that symbolise the notion that life is never
ending. Whereas the mandala involves more careful planning and geometric order,
zentangle is more abstract and is done intuitively. Both of these artistic
forms are used as meditative tools in certain cultures. She also took a
portrait class at TAPLS Contemporary Art Studio.
Sarah
has displayed her work at the Southern Academy Of Performing Arts(SAPA), at the
Mud House Museum in Avocat South Trinidad, in The Art Society of Trinidad
and Tobago and at the Rotunda Gallery. Sarah is an Art Society Member and a member in Women In Art Organization. She plans to explore other genres and expressive mediums as she
grows and evolves as an artist.
