Saxophonist, composer and educator Jesse Ryan grew up in Port of Spain, Trinidad surrounded by a rich heritage of music. Being the grandson of calypso veteran Mighty Bomber, perhaps, its no surprise that he has steadily earned his place as one of the islands brightest, young stars. His compositions are ambitious, and his enchanting sound telling, that he is set to take caribbean Jazz out of its niche of ethnic fusion, into the mainstream.

His Bridges project is an emerging, eclectic quintet, that straddles both the jazz and Afro-Caribbean traditions - a true celebration of the cultural, rhythmic and expressive connections between North America and the islands of the Caribbean.

His passion for music extends beyond the bandstand though, as he strongly believes that receiving a music eduction has a profound, transformative impact on youth. He currently teaches at various music programs for both youth and adults in Mississauga, Scarborough and the Don Valley, Canada.
